We have been trained to endure punishment, hardship and pain.
We have been trained to tolerate injuries and injustice.
We have been brainwashed to be timid about our rights.
We have been brainwashed to respect oppressors and detractors.
We have been brainwashed to accept poverty as a way of life.
We have been brainwashed to be shortsighted and to view life as an endeavor for the next meal.
Our minds have been carefully infused with superstition and fear.
Our religions are tools used to keep us away from reality.
We are taught to see each other as enemies as we try to ever outsmart ourselves.
We are imprisoned in a vicious circle of ignorance and want.
We are weak and needy always looking for help that comes from the outside.
We lack self confidence and self initiative to uplift ourselves.
We are always looking for who to blame for our weakness and self destruction.
We enjoy each other’s downfall and are always eager to hear about the downfall of another.
We are not creating a platform for the future, we are so engrossed with our immediate problems and difficulties.
We despise talent that will uplift our societies and will do whatsoever to keep things at status quo.
We are self seeking and deeply selfish, this is the origin of the history of our exploitation.

I never knew about this, I was just speaking from where my experiences are offered. But it’s eye opening to realize it is not just happening in West Africa.
